Original 1970 Gretsch Tennessean 6119 - HUSK

A vintage semi-hollow body electric guitar HUSK, known for its distinctive and classic design. Body only. No fretboard, electronics or hardware. Binding has been removed and it is ready for restoration. Will ship on a non-original guitar case for protection.

• Construction: This model features a single-cutaway, semi-hollow laminated Laminated maple top, back, and sides and a shallow depth, with a comfortable neck profile. Painted-on "F Holes" instead of actual openings to help reduce feedback.
• Key characteristics: include simulated F-holes, and a distinctive control layout with master volume and pickup selector positioning, representing the late "Baldwin era" design before major shifts, making it a sought-after vintage instrument. 
• Pickups: None.
• Hardware: None.
• Condition: The body and color are in very good condition. Celebrating 56 years in March 2026.

1967 TO THE EARLY 1970's

Toward the end of 1967, Baldwin took over the Gretsch Company. “Made In USA” was added to the serial number stamp and the numbers were date coded in the same way that they had been between ’65 and ’67. These serial numbers were also either 5 or 6 digit numbers, depending on the month of production. The numbers were once again located on the back of the headstock and would have been printed in Gold, Black or White (depending on the color of the guitar).

• The first, and or, first and second number identifies the numerical month of production. 3 indicates March.
• The second number, 0, identifies the year of production as 1970.
• The final three numbers, 107, represent Unit number

As an example, serial number 68409 would break down as:
