2x12 Guitar Cabinet – Celestion G12T-75 – Semi Open Back – Handmade in Germany

This is the first 2x12 guitar cabinet built under the TONE55 brand.

TONE55 is a boutique project focused on solid construction, proven components and practical design choices for real musicians, with a strong emphasis on live performance, portability and sound dispersion.

This cabinet is brand new, has never been gigged, and was built as a reference unit for the TONE55 Custom Series.

Sound & Design Philosophy

Loaded with two Celestion G12T-75 speakers, the same model used in classic Marshall 1960 cabinets, this 2x12 delivers a tight low end, clear highs and a balanced midrange.

Compared to a traditional 4x12 cabinet, this design offers a more open and direct sound, with improved on-stage dispersion and clarity. The semi-open back construction helps you hear yourself better on stage without excessive volume, while still maintaining punch and definition.

The cabinet was specifically designed for live use, offering a practical alternative to bulky 4x12 cabinets without sacrificing presence or authority.

Wiring & Impedance Options

Each speaker is , allowing multiple wiring configurations:

  • 4Ω mono (parallel wiring)
  • 16Ω mono (series wiring)
  • 8Ω stereo (2 × 8Ω)

This cabinet is currently wired as: 4Ω mono.
Wiring configuration can be customized on request.

Construction & Finish

The enclosure is built from quality plywood and finished with a durable black liner coating, chosen for its resistance and road-ready reliability.

A custom metal front grille, painted in metallic blue, gives the cabinet a distinctive and professional stage look.

Despite its solid construction, the cabinet remains relatively lightweight at approximately 20 kg, making it easy to transport and handle.

Live Use & Flexibility

This cabinet was designed with real-world stage use in mind:

  • Lightweight and easy to transport
  • Optimized sound dispersion for small and medium stages
  • Can be used vertically or horizontally, depending on stage layout and personal preference

The mechanical design and acoustic behavior remain consistent in both orientations.

Customization options are available on request for future builds, including:

  • Speaker choice (Celestion or other brands)
