This is a 1981 Gibson ES-335 in Natural finish, representing the classic early-80s specification that many players actively seek out for good reasons.
Condition is excellent for the year, with only a few light marks and minor dings, all entirely consistent with a carefully used and well-maintained instrument. It presents very well overall.
The guitar has a superb setup with an easy, low playing action that makes it effortless to play all the way up and down the neck. It has been professionally re-fretted and fitted with a replaced top nut, contributing to its excellent playability.
Built to 1981 Gibson factory specifications, it features a laminated maple body with a solid maple centre block, a three-piece mahogany neck, rosewood fingerboard, 24.75" scale length and original Grover Rotomatic machine heads. The original Tim Shaw PAF humbuckers are intact and sound exceptional. The neck pickup reads 7.06k and the bride reads 7.10k

Tonally, this ES-335 delivers everything you would expect from a great vintage example: warm, open lows, rich and vocal midrange, and clear, articulate highs. The Tim Shaw pickups offer superb dynamic response, excelling at clean and edge-of-breakup tones, while retaining definition and bite when pushed.
Overall, this is a fantastic vintage ES-335 that will not disappoint the serious electric guitar player looking for an authentic, original Memphis-built instrument.
The case is aftermarket but older, very high quality, and a perfect fit, offering excellent protection.
