A monophonic analog synthesizer with a simple configuration released in 1978.
It is a vintage machine with strong popularity even today.

The sound is fat and has a strong presence even though it is a 1VCO. Yamaha's unique 24dB low-pass filter is sharp, and sharp self-oscillation is possible when the resonance is turned up.
It is easy to create a strong, contoured sound for bass and lead. The controls are intuitive and equipped with sufficient functions such as ADSR and LFO, making it an ideal introduction to the basics of analog synthesizers.
There is no MIDI, but CV/Gate can be used to link with external devices. Although simple, it has the warmth and character typical of vintage machines, and its appeal remains strong even in the modern age.
