Recording King RG-35-SN – Lap Steel Guitar

The Recording King RG-35-SN is a vintage-style lap steel guitar designed to deliver rich sustain, smooth response, and expressive tonal control. Built for traditional lap steel techniques, this instrument is well suited for blues, country, Hawaiian, and roots music, offering a classic sound in a straightforward and reliable design.

General description

The RG-35-SN features a solidbody construction that provides strong sustain and a focused, well-balanced tone. Compared to more compact lap steel designs, this model offers a slightly broader tonal response, with warm lows, clear mids, and smooth highs that translate beautifully in both clean and driven settings. Its simple, durable build ensures consistent performance and long-term stability.

The fixed neck and flat fingerboard are purpose-built for lap steel playing, allowing precise intonation and expressive vibrato when used with a steel bar. Equipped with a single-coil pickup, the RG-35-SN captures the nuances of slide technique with clarity and definition, delivering a characterful, vintage-inspired sound. The Satin Natural finish reinforces the instrument’s classic aesthetic and highlights its traditional roots.

Playing experience

The Recording King RG-35-SN offers a smooth, controlled playing experience with excellent sustain and fast response.
