The Aramat Effects Green Machine overdrive pedal was first produced in 1997. The pedals were handmade and signed by the creator, Keith VanDerSchaegen, who was an early figure in the "boutique" pedal market before his death in 2008. The Green Machine is a highly regarded, all-analog, Tube Screamer-style effect that is widely considered to be his most popular creation.
This very early example, serial number 0067, was handmade and signed by Keith VanDerSchaegen, and features an enclosure exclusive to the first batch.
– In an article with Gearwire, VanDerSchaegen explains “I’m proud of all of my pedals because of the overwhelming positive response. To answer your question I would have to say the Green Machine Overdrive is my favorite. The Green Machine OD is definitely my most popular effect. I am very grateful to consider how many people it has made happy. My personal pedal board would be naked without it.”
– Effectively a Tube Screamer style effect, it’s a very wonderful sounding overdrive unit.
