Gibson Melody Maker 1963 Cherry
A 1963 Gibson Melody Maker with a cherry finish and vibrato is a vintage model featuring a mahogany body, single-coil pickup, and a "Lightning Bolt" tailpiece for vibrato. 1963 was a transitional year, with the double-cutaway body and rounded horns appearing, while the cherry finish was also introduced for the first time, making this model a desirable and rare variation.
This guitar is completely original, but due to a broken neck (screw hole on back repaired) I had it restored with the original Cherry finish that Heritage still maintained after being sold by Gibson. Ren Fergeson (sp), a Gibson employee who stayed in Kalamazoo after Gibson moved, had original craftsmen restore the guitar finish. No dings, dents or mars of any kind. Original pickup, This is a great player.
Comes with a hard shell case, although not a Gibson case.
