This 2025 Bull Series Baritone guitar is made from cherry, curly maple, and Amazaque. It has a 22-fret Amazaque fingerboard with a scale length of 30.23in. The board has a compound radius of 21.03in at the tail down to 13in at the nut. This guitar comes with a padded gig bag.
The shape of this guitar’s hard maple neck is what we call the Howie Medium Line. At the nut the depth is 0.89inches and at the 12th fret it is 0.92in. It was modeled to be as shallow as possible while still maintaining the strength needed for a baritone guitar. It’s not super thin like a 1960s Gibson ES330, and it’s not super “baseball bat” thick like a 1950s Les Paul. It’s right in the sweet spot in the middle. The width at the nut is 1.70inches. At the tail it is 2.25inches.
This guitar is very unique compared to most Howie Guitars as it has 3 pickups. I chose a very diverse set from Seymour Duncan. The neck pickup is Seymour’s most popular neck pickup...The Jazz (SH-2). It has a brilliantly clear and bright tone. The middle pickup is a Phat Cat humbucker sized P90. It gives you the vintage grit and growl that classic P90s are known for. Finally, the Bridge pickup is a 59 Custom Hybrid combining a 59 vintage medium output coil with a very high output Duncan Custom coil for a rich harmonic tone. Along with this I added switches that will coil cut each outside humbucker for a sweet single coil sound.
For electronics, I used a Freeway Toggle Switch. This amazing switch has the look of a vintage toggle switch but has 6 different positions. This allows for 6 different pickup combinations. This along with the ability to split each humbucker offers 12 different settings for tone.
The chambered body design of this guitar makes it fairly light for a baritone weighing in at 9.4lbs.
The finish on this guitar was done with a catalyzed urethane that is normally used on automobiles. This high-end urethane dries very fast and hard allowing fewer coats and a thinner finish.
