Selling my Dowling Sound Labs OM Jumbo. This guitar was made by a gentleman by the name of Ed Dowling in Arizona around 2010-11. He is an engineer by trade but also a pretty fantastic luthier. He only ever made 7 of these, 1 being a personal model of his he’d never sell. He called these Technophonic Guitars.
They have an all aluminum body with composite bracing. Everything was precisely cut and designed with a CAD system before being assembled by Ed. It’s neck is a Moses graphite neck, with a headstock plate made by Ed. It has a cool small turquoise inlay in the center. It also has a piezo pickup that is original.
This thing sounds fantastic plugged in or unplugged. It’s not quite the sound of a wood guitar but definitely not like a resonator at all. Sustain and clarity are through the roof. It’s just its own thing.
Doesn’t weight much more than a normal dreadnought sized guitar. 6.8 lbs.
