The Hummingbird, along with the J-45, is a highly popular Gibson guitar. Since its introduction in 1960, its innovative hummingbird pickguard design has made it a pioneering model that popularized animal motifs, which had previously been rare. The pickguard features the iconic hummingbird, a crown inlay on the headstock, and a double parallelogram inlay on the fingerboard. This instrument boasts even more attention to detail than the standard model, boasting a thermally aged Sitka spruce top, mahogany back and sides, a mahogany neck, a rosewood fingerboard and bridge, relic-finished Kluson tuning machines, and a 1960s-inspired engraved pickguard. It also features an L.R. Baggs Lyric pickup, which was retrofitted. The thermally aged finish allows for a rich, premium tone with just a few strums. Although there are some pick scratches around the sound hole, small dents on the body, and some fading on the paint and metal parts due to age, there is no significant damage, indicating that the instrument has been well-loved and well-used. It is in excellent playing condition. The original hard case is included.
