The Mad Professor Supreme is a dual overdrive created in collaboration with guitarist Matt Schofield, designed to provide two clearly different gain voices within a single pedal. The A side is based on the tonal character of the Royal Blue Overdrive, offering a smooth low-gain response suited for subtle breakup, expressive clean boosting and refined neck-pickup work. The B side is a newly designed circuit with a fuller and more dynamic feel, delivering a thicker overdrive with high headroom and a touch reminiscent of a pushed power amp, ideal for bridge-pickup tones or more pronounced lead work. Each side includes independent volume, gain, bass and treble controls, allowing the pedal to behave like a two-channel overdrive unit with completely separate tonal identities. The two circuits can be used individually or combined in stacking mode for increased saturation, sustain and compression while keeping good note definition. Power is supplied via standard 9-volt DC, the current draw is low, and the pedal is equipped with true bypass switching. Its construction is sturdy and optimized for professional use on modern pedalboards.
