BAD-ASS... There simply is no other way to describe this guitar. This Kramer JK 1000 has everything a player could dream of and more. Forget the visual, sexy appeal of the sleek, blue metallic finish on the body with a hot pink Dimarzio, this sweet monster is paired perfectly with a deep rosewood fingerboard that is comfortable and super fast thanks to the shred ready neck. Prepare to enter a trance as you rock out virtually any genre of music thanks to the Dimarzio pickups. These pickups are tone monsters and growl... add the original Floyd Rose Tremolo, and you have yourself one beast of a guitar. Presumably made in the 80's, this guitar is in excellent condition and looks like she was lovingly played with just a few light scratches above the bridge pickup, overall its super clean and there is only very minor play-wear. It is obviously stage worthy, but any stay at home rocker will also enjoy the vibes radiating from this baby. It has been professionally setup for optimal tone and playability and anxiously awaits the player who will take her out and let her rock!

A Kramer JK1000 with no serial number on the neck plate is likely a Japanese-made model from the 1980s, where some guitars, had blank or "factory blank" neck plates. The serial number might have been marked with a sticker on the plate, on the headstock, or not present at all.
- Blank plates: Some overseas-made plates, like those found on some JK series guitars, were intentionally made without a serial number stamp.
- Stickers: The serial number may have been applied with a sticker that could have fallen off over time.
- Headstock marking: Other models, particularly neck-thru guitars, had serial numbers on the headstock instead of the neck plate.
***
The "KRAMER JK 1000 MAD in neck pocket" refers to a vintage Kramer guitar that may have a "MAD" (or K1) marking in the neck pocket, which indicates it was made in Japan by the ESP factory for Kramer in the mid-1980s. This marking was used on some of the first JK-1000 models and signifies high-end manufacturing, often featuring an "ESP Brown Sound" pickup.
Key characteristics
- Origin: Made in Japan by ESP for Kramer.
- Model: The JK-1000 is a high-end, 80s "hair metal" style guitar.
- Markings: The "MAD" (or K1) marking is found on the neck pocket and neck heel of the first few models, suggesting it came from ESP's custom shop or artist relations department.
- Features:
- Single humbucker pickup
- Original Floyd Rose tremolo
- Made of high-quality materials, like Alder wood.
- Artist association: These models are sometimes associated with Sammy Hagar, who can be seen using a similar model.

Return Policy, Restocking Fees & No Tire-Kicking Policy
We follow Reverb’s 7-day return policy. However:
- You must notify us in writing within 3 days of delivery (per tracking) of your intent to return.
- Original shipping and return shipping costs are not refunded unless the guitar is damaged in transit or is significantly not as described.
- A 15% restocking fee applies to all returns for any reason other than damage in transit or significantly not as described.
We record demo videos of every guitar before shipping to document exact condition and performance. Additional photos, measurements, or in-hand descriptions are available upon request prior to purchase.
Minor adjustments and tweaks to a set up (for example to correct a slight buzz or truss-rod tweak) are normal after shipping due to carrier mishandling the package, climate & atmospheric changes, especially when moving from South Florida to colder or less humid environments. These slight issues do not constitute “significantly not as described.” Guitars must be returned in the exact same condition as received/advertised or additional repair/restocking fees will apply.
We are a small business, not a big-chain retailer. We invest significant time and effort into every guitar. This is a NO TIRE-KICKING shop. There is no post purchase haggling or partial refunds. If minor cosmetic marks, tiny imperfections, or the possibility of a post-shipping setup tweak makes you uncomfortable, please do not buy. Plenty of large retailers offer free trials and can absorb shipping costs—we do not.
