This Custom Shop ’63 Strat pairs a Chocolate 3-Tone Sunburst Journeyman Relic finish with an AAA birdseye maple neck — a premium upgrade that gives this build a boutique feel and standout character. The Journeyman relic treatment keeps things subtle: light lacquer checking, gentle wear, and a naturally broken-in feel without heavy relic marks or overdone aging.
Hand-wound Fat ’60s pickups deliver warm low end, sweet mids, and that unmistakable Strat chime up top, while the early ’60s oval-C neck profile and narrow tall frets feel fast, smooth, and familiar from the first chord. It’s a classic Texas-leaning Strat recipe — articulate, touch-sensitive, and full of personality with just the right amount of grit when you push it.
