Hello!
Here I present a 1966 Melody Maker in beautiful (shottly aged) Cardinal Red! The neck finish has been left original but the body at one point was stripped (see last photo) and was missing EVERYTHING besides the tuners which had a bent peg!
I opened up the tuners and replaced the bent peg, color is a lil off but it works! Bought a new pickguard/truss rod cover and a vintage Melody Maker pickup, wired Up a new harness with CTS pots and installed an aftermarket bridge ’n vibrola and viola! This thing sounds and plays great! That big ‘60’s baseball neck is great in the hands and the original frets are in great shape, lots of life left!
The finish has been dented here n there and scraped very lightly to more match the original finish in the neck but I limited myself and will let you decide if you like more or less of a relic job.
No case for this one but I’ll wrap it up as best as possible! Let me know if you have any questions!
