Ludwig Supraphonic Hammered 14x6.5 Snare Drum – Studio & Stage Workhorse The Ludwig Supraphonic has shaped the sound of countless hit recordings thanks to its distinctive bright attack and balanced resonance. This 14x6.5 model pairs a seamless, chrome-plated 1.7mm beaded aluminum shell with Imperial lugs, 2.3mm flanged hoops, and a P88AC throw-off mechanism for professional-grade performance and reliability. The hammered shell construction delivers a refined character—offering controlled sustain and slightly tempered upper-frequency response compared to standard finishes. This tuning makes the drum exceptionally versatile: refined enough for detailed brush textures, yet punchy and cutting enough to project through amplified setups. Whether in the studio or on stage, it produces the crisp, articulate snare crack that defines classic and contemporary recordings.
