1998 Gibson L5 CT (thin line) in a beautiful cherry which has naturally faded wonderfully. The good ones get played and this one has seen it's fair share of gigs in the last 26 years. There is moderate play wear and character throughout but no structural breaks or repairs. Beautifully rich ebony fingerboard and exceptionally flamed maple throughout. No signs of top sag or heel separation. Plays and sounds fantastic! The sound is woody and buttery, as you would expect from an L5. Also, SUPER comfortable to play; the body is about as thin as a Byrdland but the neck is full 25inch which makes these rare guitars so attractive and sought after.
1998 is the first year of production for this model and also happens to be in the modern "good wood era" for Gibson; a time of exceptional wood and craftsmanship for the brand.
The only modification is that the guitar is currently "wired for Jazz" meaning that the knob that normally works as a volume for the bridge pickup serves as a second volume for the neck pickup; thus allowing the player to change volume for rhythm or solo without changing the tone. The volume for the bridge pickup is controlled by the bridge tone knob. This modification is easily reversible.
Comes with original hardshell case in good condition but two of the latches no longer work.
Have a great day
