Otari Status 18R Analog Recording Console

Otari Status 18R with VCA Fader Automation in immaculate working order – Studio shutdown sale. This console is an analog dream with digital dynamic control that’s ready for tracking, mixing, and audio OR video. *IMPORTANT* - There are actually TWO boards. One is a ‘parts board’ that has been brought back up to working order. This includes - Two Otari Status 18R's, 4 Power Supplies, 1 VCA Computer, Various Cabling, Specs, Drawings, Manuals:

• Board #1: 32 inline mono channels with phantom, mic/line pre,tape/DAW return, versatile 4-band sweep EQ assignable to channel or mix path • Dynamics option on 32 channels - assign a VCA limiter, compressor or gate to any channel for tracking or mixdown • 8 inline stereo channels with line pre & tape/DAW return, basic eq for channel and mix path • Moving faders on all 40 channels • 80 channels at mixdown due to each channel having dual active audio paths • 4U 40 Ch Power Supplies & PSU cabling

• Board #2: 22 inline mono channels with phantom, mic/line pre,tape/DAW return, versatile 4-band sweep EQ assignable to channel or mix path • 2 inline stereo channels with line pre & tape/DAW return, basic eq for channel and mix path – starts up – moving faders work, pretty sure left bank of 16 channels are working, but not been tested • 4U 24 Ch Power Supplies & PSU cabling (Note: not interchangeable with 40 Ch power supplies) • Needs TLC to get fully working • Fitted out with spare audio modules that are working, but may not be 100%.

• All: 12 bus (technically 24, but busses are paired 1+13, 2+14 ... 12+24, which is actually a very fast way of working) • Nearfields, Mains, and Studio monitoring • Outputs & Inputs for 3 stereo tape machines, DATs, CDRs, whatever • Highly flexible routing options - no really, you can send anything anywhere

Board #1 Functionality: Very quiet great mixer - All channels function and dynamics work well. All Line, Mic, and Tape inputs have been tested and verified to work. Moving Faders on all 40 channels, including Fader Flip, and Dynamics is active on all 32 input modules.

Includes: Start up Floppy discs with back up copies for both the Mixer and Eagle Automation, COMPAQ computer with keyboard and mouse loaded with Eagle automation, Power Supplies for the Main system + Dynamics, and second Power Supply for the Moving Faders – It also includes the original patch bay (not installed) as additional single / dual channel modules were installed in its place. 5 spare stereo modules, and multiple copies of all manuals and schematics are also provided. Fitted Options provided include Stereo Input Modules; Dynamics, factory-fitted into Mix Path; and Moving Faders, factory-fitted onto the Lower Fader bank.

The #1 console is 72"W x 30"D x 12"H, the #2 console is 60"W x 30"D x 12"H excluding stands - The custom stands surround the undercarriage of the console snugly and bring both consoles to optimal working height. This is preferably a pick up item and can be transported in a minivan (seats removed), but will consider boxing this up for a handling rate as long as you set up the shipping method.
