The JHS Pedals 3 Series Oil Can Delay Pedal gives you access to classic ‘60s and ’70 modulation filled electro-static tape delay tones in a compact footprint.

Based on the original Tel-Ray Electronics delay patented in 1959, this JHS pedal enables you to create unique echo effects with elements of vibrato and slapback delay. The dip switch allows you to add more or less modulation to your guitar signal and three simple knobs give you quick control over various aspects of the effect. The original patented oil can delay apparatus involved a tuna shaped can filled with oil that was rotated by a belt mechanism, this gave the delay a unique and random modulation tone which JHS have replicated in this compact pedal, so you can access that same vintage delay tone on your pedalboard.

The mix control allows you to set the mix of echo and clean signal, allowing you to slightly flavour or totally dominate your guitar signal with sweep for everything in between. The speed knob controls the length of the delay time from 100ms to 330ms. A feedback knob controls the amount of repeats introduced, enabling you to mimic delay unit feedback. The dip switch gives you two different modulation intensities, giving the pedal its unique varied ‘oil can’ warble tone.
