I purchased this guitar at Hollywood Guitar Center October 1970. The Salesmen told me that Buddy Miles guitar player had just traded this in and wasn’t on the floor yet! The guitar player was Charlie Karp I called Charlie over 10 years ago and talked to him for quite awhile to verify that this was his old Stratocaster! he told me he ripped the original finish off when he was in wood shop in high school the original finish was sunburst! I had the body cleaned and refinished with the natural look in 1974 it still had a touch of sunburst on it! The body was very Dirty and played hard! I also asked him if he smoked and he yes he’d put cigarettes up in the headstock while he played! He also told me he replaced the neck in 1969 the original one broke! He also told me he did trade in the guitar at that location I have analyzed the body and the neck and could always tell the body was older than the neck! the pots are dated back to 1959! here in the photo’s is the gatefold of them changes album with Charlie Karp playing the Stratocaster that’s for sell here! This is a one of kind! And a part of history as well!
