Up for sale, a 2000 Martin Standard Series D-35 in excellent condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original molded hardshell case. This D-35 has been outfitted with a Fishman Neo D single coil soundhole pickup and Makoto Sakai TS Pickup System 3LW undersaddle piezo and active preamp. This Martin benefits from a professional neck reset, with a new carved bone nut and tall bridge saddle, as well as a replacement pickguard.

Unique to the D-35 among Martin's dreadnought body guitars, the instrument features lighter 1/4" bracing, as opposed to the 5/16" bracing seen on its counterpart, the D-28. This feature, combined with the D-35's unique three-piece rosewood back, delivers a sound that is notably lively. The guitar has plenty of muscle and projection, yet with a relaxed, open quality befitting a top that’s been worked-in over a number of decades. The tone has an exquisite overarching clarity and treble chime, with a dynamic cut and bold, round low strings that have a high volume ceiling when played hard with a flat pick. This Standard Series D-35 weighs 5lbs 4oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 12-53 bronze strings and easy-playing action.

The Fishman Neo D single coil features neodymium magnet construction, designed for a clear, balanced sound with a high-impedance, low-profile design. The second pickup is an undersaddle piezo, wired together into a Makoto Sakai TS Pickup System 3LW with trim pots (independent Volume and Master Tone controls) to mix the signals of the two elements. Sakai is a Japanese guitarist and instructor, and their acoustic pickups are produced in limited quantities.

There is a singular professionally repaired top crack behind the bridge, largely following the center seam yet shifting slightly off the seam to the treble side. Additional maintenance includes a new pickguard and cleanly doweled mounting holes from a previous tuner set. The back and rims are crack-free, with lightly ambered binding, save for at the bass-side waist, and just a few small nicks and finish scuffs on the body as a whole. The neck profile retains its smooth satin finish.

The original molded hardshell case is included.
