Well suited for modern metal players, the Sentient 7-String Active Mount from Seymour Duncan is a passive 7-string humbucking pickup designed for use in the neck position. The pickup has a black soapbar cover and offers a vintage output that works equally well for clean and distorted tones with superb articulation. The Sentient features an alnico 5 bar magnet to deliver a versatile tone that fits between the '59 Model and the Jazz neck pickup.

The Sentient provides pristine cleans for intricate chordal and single-note runs with fluid leads under high gain. The pickup's output supplies enhanced dynamics with a wide harmonic range and works well for low tunings in all humbucker-equipped guitars. This pickup comes with a black soapbar cover with one row of exposed poles for a modern active look and is a quick retrofit into any guitar with an active rout. The Sentient also features a nickel-silver bottom plate, 4-conductor lead wire for multiple wiring options, and is vacuum wax potted for squeal-free performance. Like all Seymour Duncan pickups, the Sentient is carefully hand-built in Santa Barbara, CA.
