This Gibson Custom Shop Collector’s Choice #12 is a fantastic guitar, with a neck profile leaning more towards a ‘59 profile verses the humongous ’57 profile of the custom shop vos line. Light weight with a delicate balance of power and an incredible “chime” in its pickup set. It’s aging reflects a guitar that’s been used as it should be, but cared for throughout its years. This particular guitar has a bonus bakelite switch plate from original 50s goldtop. The wear patter matched too good not to use it. Of the many Gibson Custom Shop guitars Ive played and owned over the years this one feels like a actual vintage Gibson.
The distinctive patina and individual marks have been artfully recaptured by Gibson Custom’s expert aging team. Collector’s Choice #12 was offered in a Limited run of up to 300, with qualifying materials determining the final run size.
