This is the APEX1, Munky’s signature 7-string. was produced in 2007-2010 in Japan (Prestige line). This model retains its original components, finish, and superb build quality. It’s ideal for players who want that low-end crunch Korn is known for, paired with nuanced playability and vintage Japanese craftsmanship.

Excelent for high-gain rhythm playing and metal: the 7 string + mahogany delivers tight low end when tuned down (factory tuning is Korn’s signature: A, D, G, C, F, A, D).

Clean tones are less flashy, and the lack of a tone control means less versatility in mellow sounds. The PAF-7s are more moderate output: very good clarity, but need a good amp/drive to push into aggressive distortion.

The tremolo with the U-bar is a cool feature: gives you those aggressive dives or bends with control if you set it up well.

If you’re after a serious 7-string with character, heavy rhythm chops, and a rare Prestige-build Ibanez, this 2009 APEX1 in excellent condition is a gem. A strong choice both as a player’s tool or a collectible.
