You are looking at a somewhat rarer AKG microphone from the 1970's era called the Maestro which is a dynamic cardioid microphone with outstanding sound characteristics and set at 200 OHMS / low impedance. The mic has a warm, smooth tone with just the right amount of bass making this ideal for broadcasting and singing.
The uber modern contemporary design makes it stand out among the more boring rounded globe stick mics. The large cone shaped exterior pop filter / screen allows for good isolation and plenty of interior foam to cancel out the dreaded "pops" you get from singing too close to the mic.
I don't have any data sheets or catalogs showing this model but I'm quite certain it's a 1970's era mic. If you like the sound of the AKG D1000E then you'll certainly love the sound of the DM800. The element looks identical and it's probably the exact same. The DM800 comes with the on / off switch.
The DM800 is a very light weight microphone with an all metal construction. It's appx 7 inches long X 2 inches wide at the tip and has an excellent frequency range. This mic is in perfect working condition, and very good cosmetically.
