When Vintage Guitar magazine first hailed the original Mercury in 2003 as the “Tone of the Gods,” it cemented Carr’s reputation for sonic innovation. The Mercury V takes that legacy further, combining touch-sensitive response with an enhanced control layout that allows players to explore a wide spectrum of gain structures, EQ shaping, and output levels suitable for nearly any genre.

Powered by a pair of 6V6GT power tubes for 16 watts of rich output, the Mercury V employs a unique preamp circuit featuring independent High and Low Volume controls, a three-way Boost switch, and a responsive three-band EQ. Whether you’re chasing chiming ’60s cleans, fat ’70s riff tones, ’80s stadium crunch, or ’90s high-gain saturation, this amp delivers. The dual channels can be blended in parallel for classic four-input textures or cascaded in series for massive modern gain.

Carr’s hallmark built-in attenuator allows seamless scaling from 16 watts down to bedroom-friendly levels as low as 4 watts, while a post-power amp Line Out makes it easy to run direct to a PA system or recording interface.
