The Fender Japan STR-75 Pro Feel Stratocaster, only built between 1985 and 1988, showcases a combination of classic Fender design and modern innovations tailored for professional players.
This one was “Made in Japan” at the Fujigen factory in 1984 during the golden age of Fender Japan production.
a well-crafted instrument that combines vintage charm with modern player-focused upgrades. Featuring a sleek black body and a maple fretboard/neck, this guitar stands out visually while delivering excellent playability.
The fretboard includes a slight scallop on the 11th fret and past the 12th fret, providing enhanced control for expressive bends and vibrato in the upper register. This scallop job is aftermarket, and although slightly quirky with the 11th fret scalloped, it still provides a functional and fun playing experience high on the fretboard.
Tonally, this Stratocaster is equipped with an HSS pickup configuration for versatility, featuring a Fender HOT ROD ("Dragster") Humbucker in the bridge and two HOT ROD single-coil pickups in the neck and middle positions with extra-large magnet slugs This combination provides everything from crisp, articulate cleans to powerful, high-gain output. Classic 80s tone!
Paired with the Floyd Fender EX-TREM Gold Original locking bridge, licensed by Floyd Rose, this guitar offers exceptional tuning stability even during aggressive tremolo use.
While it shows visible playwear, such as buckle rash and dings/scratches, these cosmetic imperfections add character and reflect its life as a dependable, gig-ready instrument.
It comes delivered in a vintage Fender brown leather gigbag.
