 You are looking at a somewhat rare RCA (MI-38263) dynamic Type SK-30 microphone first produced in the early 1960's and manufactured for about 10 years before being discontinued . It has that classic midcentury look and this particular example is set at low impedance. It comes with the mic clip, original cable shown in which to operate and box in which to store.

 Pic # 2 shows this very model mic on an old RCA data sheet. This model came in both the High Z and Low Z version but this example is set at Low Z.

 This mic was actually a collaboration between Shure Brother's and RCA. The mics body is an original all metal RCA design while the actual dynamic element is from Shure Brothers. The dynamic element used in this mic was also used in The Shure 540 model as well as the 757SB and it's extremely rugged. They hold up very well and I rarely come across one that doesn't work anymore. The element is omni-directional as well.

 This smaller mic could be mounted on a stand, gooseneck or placed on a mic clip depending on the users needs. The mic has a rear thread that is compatible with all desk and floor stands. These were originally designed as a rugged affordable general purpose microphone. Great for broadcasting or dispatch work.

 The Type SK-30 was an all metal microphone with an attractive dark blue / grey paint scheme and chromed front grill. A classier looking mic that is fairly light weight.

 This mic has been tested and has an excellent 100% working element. Again, set at low Z.

 The sound is more mid range though. Low Z mics today are very heavy on the bass but these older mics were less bass heavy. They do make these SK-30 models in High Z as well giving it much more of a classic "Rockabilly" sound so if you are looking for that I's suggest finding one it that setting. 

 You'll notice right away that this mic has an original painted finish. This example is quite beautiful with virtually no wear. No dents or fractures. The front grill looks amazing with zero tarnish, odors or dents. I added a new inner pop filter as well since the original was all but gone. Helps reduce unwanted pops while talking into the mic. An outer pop filter would help as well.

 Mic is an easy 9 + on a scale of 1 - 10 in the cosmetic department.

 The mic is appx 4 1/2 inches long X 1 1/2 inches wide at the tip. It comes with the older mic clip that works great for this mic gripping it firmly and giving it a wide degree of tilt up and down. Mic clip has plenty of tension in the joint mechanism and will screw onto any desk or floor stand you have.

 The mic has an original 6 foot cable. The cable is still very soft and is very pliable. The original 1/4 inch male connector shows very lite wear. You can run the male 1/4 inch connector through most stems of most stands so that it can exit out the bottom of the base. In some cases you might have to detach the connector to run the cable through a stand but you'll get it worked out. The 6 feet will be great for audio equipment that is closer to your mic and stand.

 The original RCA box is in very nice condition and is a great original accessory for the mic and for resale purposes.
