Yamaha Pro Series BBP34 -VSB-[GSB019] 2025
This is a good model that has the same bold sound as the BB, but is also highly versatile.
YAMAHA has accumulated unique technology and research in acoustics and woodworking, and the careful craftsmanship typical of Japanese products and the sound that supports the low end of the ensemble while also having excellent grain and overtones are very attractive.
Now, more than 40 years after its release, an innovative model that inherits the traditional BB has been born.
~Pro Series BBP34~
The body is made of alder, which is characterized by its warm midrange, and has a 3-ply alder/maple/alder structure with Yamaha's unique I.R.A. treatment.
The neck joint uses a miter bolting neck joint, creating a powerful sound that is integrated with the body.
Equipped with a convertible type bridge that can be selected according to preference. A "Made in Japan" flagship model that meets the high demands of players.
・Alder/Maple/Alder 3-ply body structure
The new BB series has an alder/maple/alder 3-ply body structure.
The hard maple sandwiched between the alder on both sides enriches the midrange, realizing a body resonance that blends in better with the band's sound.
In addition, by using maple for the body material, sound can be transmitted directly to the maple neck, reducing sound loss between the body and neck and reliably receiving string vibration.
・I.R.A. (Initial Response Acceleration)
I.R.A. (Initial response acceleration) is a technology that reduces the stress of paint and adhesives that are inherent in the instrument immediately after completion by giving the instrument appropriate vibration after completion, and promotes the vibration of the instrument.
Players know how important it is to "play" their instruments. It is said that "playing" an instrument improves its sound.
The reason for this is that the stress that occurs between the wood of the neck and fingerboard, between the wood and the paint, between the wood and the hardware, etc., becomes familiar and resonates as one by playing it.
By applying I.R.A. (Initial response Acceleration) processing, the bass is closer to the state it was played in, bringing out the ideal body resonance.
-Miter bolting for a strong neck connection
In addition to the four screws that secure the neck vertically from the back of the body, two additional screws are added to secure the neck end at a 45-degree angle from the back of the body, creating a miter bolting method.
The body and neck are firmly attached to each other, creating a strong sound that is one body and neck.
There is less energy loss from string vibration than with a normal bolt-on joint, resulting in rich sustain and overwhelming body resonance.
-Newly developed pickup YGD Custom V7
Equipped with a newly developed pickup. Combined with the alder/maple/alder body structure, it achieves a clear sound that does not get lost in the band.
-Convertible type bridge and saddle
Uses a "string-through-body" structure that passes the strings through the back of the body.
Compared to the general method of passing the strings vertically from the back of the body, passing the strings at a 45-degree angle transmits the energy of the string vibration to the body with less loss.
With the general back-passing method of passing the strings directly under the saddle, there is a large loss of string vibration at the plate and saddle, making it difficult to transmit the string vibration efficiently and reliably, but by cutting the bottom of the body at an angle and passing the strings at a 45-degree angle, the stress on the strings at the saddle is reduced.
The difference in the contact points of the semicircular saddle allows players to express themselves in a variety of ways, from crisp, clear sounds to warm sounds.
The brass saddle of the Vintage Plus bridge provides deep bass, while the steel plate provides a bright sound.
The metal parts such as springs and screws are made of stainless steel for resistance to rust and corrosion.
*We recommend long-scale strings when stringing the bridge from the front, and super-long-scale strings when stringing from the back of the body.
・New design neck
The neck shape has been changed to a thinner one compared to the previous model BB. Achieves high playability suitable for the modern music scene.
-Lightweight pegs
To match the new BB body, which is thinner and lighter, we have adopted lighter pegs than the previous model. The overall body balance has been improved and the optimal playing feel has been achieved.
