A Fresh Take on a Classic
The Limited Edition Custom 24 Satin 40th Anniversary celebrates four decades of PRS Guitars with unique and remarkable features applied to the model that started it all. Limited to just 500 pieces worldwide, this special edition showcases a figured mango top, ebony fingerboard, satin nitro finish, and smoked black hardware — a stunning new interpretation of a true classic.
The most striking change is the replacement of the traditional maple top with spectacular figured mango, a tonewood that shares many of maple’s sonic properties while adding a dramatic, quilted-like visual character. The satin nitro finish enhances both the natural aesthetic and the resonant, open feel of the guitar. The ebony fingerboard and headstock feature classic “Old School” PRS bird outlines along with the Pre-Factory Eagle logo, paying tribute to the earliest PRS instruments.
Despite its bold new look, this Custom 24 remains true to its roots: mahogany body and neck, 25” scale length, 24 frets, 10” radius, and the comfortable Pattern Thin neck profile. Hardware includes the PRS Gen III patented tremolo, Phase III locking tuners with wing buttons, and PRS Signature 10–46 strings.
For electronics, the Custom 24 Satin 40th Anniversary comes equipped with the brand-new PRS DMO Treble and Bass pickups. Designed by Paul Reed Smith and the PRS New Products engineering team, the DMO set (“Dynamic, Musical, Open”) delivers a rich, expressive, and vocal tone. Paired with the 5-way switch, this guitar offers the versatility and clarity expected from a world-class, two-octave instrument.
As part of PRS’s 40th Anniversary celebrations, each guitar ships with a hand-signed 40th Anniversary Certificate of Authenticity.
