The sound of the south
Dig up the roots from the deep south. Unearth the expressive and iconic tones of country and blues music that rose up from the heart of Tennessee and surrounding areas. It's a sound that has spilled not only into other areas of America but also overseas as musicians all over the world fell in love with the raw and authentic essence of the genre. The Southern Jumbo Original encompasses all this in its truly stunning design.
Gibson have gone all out to ensure that you can harness the beautiful emotion that comes with the best country and blues music. The mahogany body delivers a rich and distinct tone that hits the sweet spot of the familiar story telling melodies you've grown to love. Are you ready to tell your own tales?
Electronics of the south
Now you've got the perfect rhythmic tone, the last thing you want is for it to get lost through the electronics when amplified. Gibson refuse to let this happen. This southern homage is equipped with an LR Baggs VTC pickup that makes sure you'll radiate an authentic acoustic sound even when you plugin. Inspired by magic created in some of Nashville's legendary studios, this quality and meticulously designed LR Baggs system is beautifully responsive. Never lose even a fragment of expression. And with the built in volume and tone dials, you'll remain in complete control of your sound. Large or small, your audience will get your full story.
Feel of the south
Okay so you've got the sound, now you need the comfort and playability to project it properly. The Southern Jumbo Original has you covered. Running away with a heart thumping blues riff has never been so easy with the mahogany slim taper neck while improvising flecks of feeling through bends is an absolute breeze with the rosewood fretboard. This smooth playing makes it easy for you to concentrate entirely on the music and the way you express it. Country and blues are all about the feeling as well as the sound. Blend the two perfectly and you've got the Gibson Southern Jumbo Original. It's the experience you've been looking for.
