For your consideration, Garrett Park Guitars presents this 1974 PRS Bass.
Long before PRS built the factory on Kent Island, Paul Reed Smith worked out of a shop on West Street right here in Annapolis. This left-handed bass, which was commissioned in 1974, is an excellent example of Paul's time on West Street. Thanks to careful custodianship down the years, it remains virtually unchanged today, featuring a hand-carved mahogany body and neck, a 33.25" scale length, an ebony fretless fingerboard, a killer Hi-A Bartolini pickup, and a Badass tailpiece. It's currently strung for a righty, but we could easily restring it as intended for a left-handed player.
Pre-factory guitars made by Paul himself, before any rock stars (and investors) came calling, are some of the most sought after of all PRS instruments. Examples like this bass were made with the finest tonewoods and components and shaped by the master's own hands. No wonder they are the most valuable.
This bass was originally sourced and sold by Garrett Park Guitars here in Annapolis and we are proud to offer it for public sale again.
