This PRS Custom 24 Fatback, a special Wood Library model celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Custom 24 model, is a dream instrument in every respect: perfect workmanship, breathtaking looks, outstanding playability, and a characterful sound are the hallmarks of this guitar.

The basis of this wonderful instrument is the selected woods from the PRS Wood Library program. Similar to the Private Stock category, models can be customized individually and independently of the wood combination that is standard for a particular model.

Accordingly, this Fatback 24 comes with a body made from hand-selected mahogany, which has the old, full “Fatback” width but remains a lightweight at 3.81kg. Combined with a richly grained 10-top flamed maple top, which is effectively highlighted by the classic cherry sunburst high-gloss finish, and the elaborately bound Gaboon ebony fingerboard with 30th Anniversary pearl bird inlays over the set-in mahogany neck, the guitar offers a dreamlike combination of visual and acoustic features, which, in addition to outstanding acoustic resonance, also gives the guitar a fat, juicy tone with plenty of sustain and warmth when amplified.

The two PRS USA 85/15 humbuckers characterize its versatile application possibilities and consistently optimal sound development. The dynamic range of the pickups invites expressive sounds and puts complete control over response and volume in the hands of the player. Both pickups are controlled by a 5-way switch, which also offers stripped-down singlecoil-like sound options via a push/pull coil split in the tone control.

Thanks to the slim thin pattern neck profile, 10" radius and 42.9mm nut width, the playability is an absolutely flattering experience for the fretting hand.
