Introduced in 1997, this is the vintage-spec 45 model. (Serial #884569)
It features a V-shaped neck, forward-shifted scalloped bracing, snowflake position markers, and a retro look enhanced by aging toner. Another distinctive detail is the C.F. Martin signature inlay at the 19th fret.

The top is crafted from tight-grained, beautifully figured Sitka spruce. The aging toner gives it a bright, vintage appearance, with silky waves running across the grain that shine with a stunning luster. The light lemon hue of the top face contrasts vividly with the abalone inlays, while the original tortoise pickguard adds to its authentic vintage vibe.

The Indian rosewood back and sides also feature excellent figure, with clean straight grain and fine dark lines. The deep-colored rosewood body is elegantly framed with abalone purfling, radiating the signature luxury of the D-45.

The square-shaped headstock, made from dark rosewood, highlights the vertical MARTIN logo with strong presence. The guitar is fitted with retro-style open-back tuners.

The ebony fingerboard is decorated with pre-war style snowflake position markers, while the slim V-shaped mahogany neck, made from dense, high-quality wood, offers a comfortable grip.

Not only is it visually striking, but its superb tonal quality is truly breathtaking—owning a D-45 is a joy in itself.

The sound is wide and expansive, with sweet, rich overtones. Time has brought out a seasoned, mature quality, producing a bright, crystalline tone.

Thanks to its vintage-spec forward-shifted scalloped bracing, the bass has a commanding presence, while every string projects clearly, with delicate trebles spreading like a shower of sound.

Its brilliant clarity and refined articulation embody the luxurious and dazzling tone that only a D-45 can deliver.

2. The fingerboard binding near the nut on the 1st–2nd string side is partially separated.

3. The endpin hole has been enlarged due to a previously installed pickup.
