Overview: This big old jazzbox is a nice, Korean-made Epiphone Emperor that's built in the style of an old L-5. It's got the rounded cutaway, floating mini-humbucker (Johnny Smith-style) pickup, and classy looks and trim. The neck is fast and the build is good. It's still got that standard '90s import poly finish all over, but it doesn't detract -- you're too busy being cowed by the profuse pearl blocks in the fretboard. It does the "jazz" thing nicely and, in a pinch, could also pick rockabilly-style backing work if pressed into it! As per the usual, this pickup style gives a clean and clear humbucker sound that you can tailor to your needs -- not the tone pot all the way down sound that a lot of modern jazz-oriented guitars do right off the bat these days.
Repairs included: Sarah gave it a level/dress of the frets and setup. It's playing spot-on and ready to go. Note that it has a standard archtop-style bridge and so wants to be strung with a wound G string for good intonation. If you need a plain-G setup, we can either cut a fresh rosewood saddle for it with that compensation or we can fit any number of ABR-style bridge tops to it that are adjustable.
