Ya Jerk is the first installment in the dual channel Jerk line of chaotic oscillators from omiindustriies, conceptualized as a chaotic argument. Ya Jerk provides sub-audio non-periodic chaotic modulation, configured in a feedback loop. It is essentially an analog computer configured to solve a nonlinear chaotic differential equation with external knobs and CV inputs. The two sides are configured similarly but with some small circuit differences, giving them related but separate behavior.
Chaotic modulation occupies a unique space where it is less predictable than a periodic signal from an LFO or envelope, but more bounded than smoothed random signal such as a slew limited sample and hold. Your ear may pick up on patterns within the modulation, but the aperiodic nature of the module means they won’t ever quite repeat the same way twice.
The Rude and Jeez knobs smooth out the oscillations, while What the Heck? And Seriously? Control the speed and intensity of the decaying bounces. Each side has three outputs, X, Y, and Z. X is the most jagged, while Z is the most sinusoidal. The Influence inputs inject external signals into the circuitry and includes an attenuverter to scale the input both positively and negatively. With no cables present in the influence jacks, the two sides are configured in a feedback loop. External CV changes the character, and gates or triggers can cause the module to loosely sync with other modules in your system.
