This is one of my earlier designs, finally up for sale as the first of many forms. Down South Guitars "The RDX" p-90 neck is hand wound and a perfect combination of modern punch and vintage tone. The two powerful Alnico 8 bar magnets are the main source of power for the modest 5.7-ish K ohms of output. This gives an explosive mix of grunt, mid-range punch, room-filling bass, and vintage sparkle. Flat sounding in the neck position, while very bright and grunty in the bridge position. I recommend this P-90 in the neck with a higher ohm reading bridge P-90 in the bridge like the DSG "Mississippi King" or "Soul-90" for a modern powerhouse or a unique vintage-modern blend, respectively.

This is my 3rd prototype I ever made, the "Revelation!" was the first and the "Fire" and "Brimstone" set was the second. This idea come out of nowhere and blends the sparkle and clarity of vintage singles with the power and oomph of modern singles. Not one pickup builder made a vintage-output pickup using Alnico 8, so this was one of the two reasons I got into winding to begin with. Explosive, articulate design for lead and rhythm alike.
