Harmony Stella 6137 nylon string vintage guitar circa early 1970’s
Excellent condition in terms of both structural playability and cosmetics. All birch construction. Not a true “classical” guitar because it has the standard Harmony ladder bracing but no light fan bracing between the sound hole and bridge. (As far as I know Harmony only used fan bracing on the slightly more upscale solid spruce topped classicals.) Great string height & action up & down the neck; impeccable neck angle. All original with no alterations. Could use a tiny bit of touch-up here & there; I have cleaned it and oiled the fingerboard but otherwise left it as found. I hesitate to call any mass produced guitar “rare” but this model is legitimately uncommon. I believe 6137 models were made from 1972-75, but not always with this particular sound hole faux stencilled “rosette”, which is distinctive in its two color combination of brown & yellow, and I believe unique to this briefly produced model. The tuners are one-hole Japanese made Kluson open gear knock-offs, a little bit odd for a slot head guitar but fairly common for Harmony nylon-strings of this era. These particular tuners are quite distinctive & cool. Not much else to say: a charming vintage budget guitar in enviable condition, branded Harmony on the headstock & Stella on the interior paper label.
Can be shipped with a gig bag for an additional $20.
