Ivy Pedals is proud to present the new, 2025 Good Guy analog overdrive guitar effect pedal in the VAMPIRE Special Edition black/red colorway with updated specifications!
Good Guy is my twist on the classic overdrive topology, and features a tone switch, and a diode selector switch. This overdrive is all analog, has dynamic breakup action, and has a nice warm tone. The VAMPIRE Special Edition is a bit closer to a full distortion (thanks to increased input gain), but it is still an overdrive with precise amounts of breakup. The Good Guy is designed to be stackable with other distortion/boost/dirt pedals. This VAMPIRE Special Edition Good Guy features increased input gain and an improved output volume sweep.
Controls:
Dirt: clipping/crunch/distortion amount, input gain
Level: volume, output level
Tone: Hi=trebly guitar / Lo=MORE BASS (compatible with bass guitars)
Knife: diode selector! Lg=~mystery diodes~ / Sm=1n4148 (wide vs. narrow clipping)
Good Guy features true bypass switching and runs on standard 9v DC center negative power supply. Runs on 12v DC as well! This is the second batch of Good Guy pedals, and they were built as a matched set of 5, like the original Blue/Red version. I am keeping the 5th build for myself...
