1980 Fender “The Strat” in Lake Placid Blue – Gorgeous Aged Finish, Gold Hardware, Original Case
Up for grabs is a stunning 1980 Fender “The Strat”, finished in iconic Lake Placid Blue with a beautifully aged finish. This is a true CBS-era premium model that blends classic Strat DNA with 1980s high-end upgrades. Heavy gold-plated brass hardware throughout.
Three single-coil pickups with a hotter X-1 bridge pickup for added output. Unique 9-position switching via the 5-way blade plus rotary selector (replaces the bottom tone knob) – offers a ton of tonal variety from glassy cleans to punchy leads.
This guitar is in very good vintage condition. The Lake Placid Blue finish shows honest, attractive aging with some checking, light wear, and dings consistent with a 45+ year-old instrument – nothing structural or distracting. It has that perfect “played-in” look and feel while remaining highly collectible.
Comes complete with its original Fender hard case and tremolo arm.
These “The Strat” models were limited-production flagships (1980-1983) and are increasingly sought after for their unique features, gold hardware, and that special early-80s Fender vibe. They deliver classic Strat quack and sparkle with a bit more aggression when you want it.
