Up for grabs is a 1957 Gibson ES-125 D Project Husk. This is the Rare Double Pickup 125 with Full Depth Body. This version was only made for a few years. According to Gibson Shipping Totals only 151 ES-125D guitars were produced in 1957 compared to 2,345 ES-125 Single Pickup guitars produced.
The guitar features a Sunburst Finish, U Factory Order Number Stamped in the F-Hole, Beautiful Brazilian Rosewood Fingerboard, and Mahogany Neck. The Husk is in Fair Condition displaying lots of nicks, dings, playwear and finish checking. There was once other tuners installed on the guitar that appear to have caused a vertical crack. The crack was glued and has stayed secure for many years. There is some glue residue around the headstock. On the upper bout side there are extra holes from strap buttons and what looks to be a puncture that was covered with masking tape many years ago. I have not attempted to remove the masking tape but can see some covered damage.
The neck is straight and the truss rod is working. The frets display play wear similar to the rest of the guitar and will need some TLC. The Factory P-90 routes have not been modified and there are no extra holes on the top of the guitar.
