Selling today is a 1991 Rickenbacker 620 12 String in Fireglo finish. This guitar has served me well for over a decade playing in a Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers Tribute band. It's time to part ways with this wonderful piece and put in the hands of the next artist looking for that "Ric 12 string Jangle".
I added a new bridge that enables intonation for each string. This made all the difference in the tone of this guitar. I will ship with this bridge installed and the original bridge and tail piece. No other modifications were done.
Well preserved Vintage Rickenbacker 12 string made famous by Tom Petty with 1979's "Damn the Torpedoes" album. This 12 string electric guitar has that great classic Rickenbacker jangle sound made familiar in the music of Roger McGuinn (The Byrds), Glenn Frey (Eagles) and Beatles' George Harrison & John Lennon.
The Model 620 features the famous 'Cresting Wave' Maple cutaway body based on an innovative design from the 1950's. A Rosewood fingerboard is punctuated beautifully with triangular pearloid inlay markers, while the maple double bound neck and body are solid through and through. The 620 is electronically engineered to the exacting standards of the 300 series, complete with Rickenbacker's own high gain pickups and stereo output. Successfully retaining the balance from the original specifications, the 620 is another fine example of Rickenbacker quality workmanship.
