Sound City 50 Plus - 1970s
***this amp has 6L6’s in it***
This a vintage 50w Sound City head that sounds amazing with some 6L6’s in it. It is the precursor to the Hiwatts and Reeves amps and is bright and punchy. Just like Hiwatts, it’s a great pedal platform as well dirty up with a delightful breakup with its own voicing. Some of the graphics on the front panel have worn off over the 50+ years of rock‘n’roll. Everything works, EQ is good, knobs, dials, etc are as shown. I have extra knobs and can change out the Mids knob to a factory one but I thought it was rad as is so I left it that way.
Think Jimi Hendrix, Pete Townsend, Jus Oborn of Electric Wizard on the album Dopethrone.
