Gibson Custom Collector's Choice #30 The original 1959 Les Paul “Gabby” was the talk of the town among burst lovers the world over. The “Burst Les Paul,” the king of vintage guitars, has been the subject of much research, including the history of each one (for example, who originally owned serial number ○○○○, and who owns it now? However, this “Gabby” with serial number 9-0291 came to light in 2008, when the owner suddenly contacted Gibson.

　Many of the 1959 bursts have some sort of faded color, such as honey burst or lemon drop, but this one has kept its original color remarkably well. This is a valuable piece that shows that it has been very carefully cared for over a long period of time. The owner requested Gibson to appraise it in 2008, and Gibson did not stop at its own appraisal, but asked world-renowned burst collector Vic Da Pra (who also appears on p. 213 of “The Beauty Of The 'Burst,” the bible for burst lovers) to appraise it. As a result, it was certified as "the best-preserved original burst. The nickname “Gabby” is short for "Gibson Appraisal Burst.
