This Monette LT is one of the finest trumpets ever made. It has shared the stage with many famous jazz musicians, and has been played for many thousands of hours. I'm the original owner from 2002 to the present, and I have babied it all along the way. Following Dave Monette's guidance, it has been in my hands or in the case, and has never been put on a trumpet stand, a chair, etc.

When I bought it 20+ years ago, heavy sheet braced trumpets were all the rage, and this LT was viewed as the "more affordable" Monette. Now, tastes have changed towards lighter horns, and even Wynton is playing an LT with a weight similar to this one. This is the most versatile horn in Monette's lineup, and is an excellent choice for classical, jazz, lead playing, really anything.

The gold has worn thin in the places my hands touch it (see close-up photo), but it's still gorgeous. Monette doesn't offer gold plated horns like this anymore, and I think that's sad because it's the most beautiful finish I've ever seen, and it keeps the raw brass smell off your hands.

I'm selling because I switched to C trumpet exclusively a couple years ago, and haven't played this horn in 18 months. It's too expensive to just keep on a shelf. If Monette ever resumes making gold plated horns, the C version of this would be my ideal "forever" trumpet.

I'm including the original black leather Monette case, which is the nicest case I've ever seen for any instrument, and the original B2 mouthpiece that came with the trumpet.
