Vintage (~1980) Oberheim OB-X [8-voice] with Encore MIDI installed!

This has been my personal holy grail analog synth for many years. The deluxe Encore MIDI kit was professionally installed and gives the unit full MIDI in/out/thru capabilities as well as improved OS system and the ability to store 120 factory patches (i.e. OB-Xa). The synth has been professionally restored and is currently offered in working condition. The eight individual voice cards have been calibrated and are each fully operational.

IT WORKS!

Just finished servicing it and now it’s working flawlessly. Here are some of the service notes:

1. Completely recapped power supply with upgraded components (from Synthchaser.com).

2. Upgraded PS bridge rectifiers and voltage adj trimmers.

3. Replaced lithium memory battery (12 year lifespan)

4. Cleaned and calibrated mod levers and J-wire assembly.

5. Recalibrated voice cards.

EVERYTHING IS NOW 100% OPERATIONAL ON THIS GLORIOUS SYNTHESIZER!

OPTIONAL: Super heavy-duty Anvil road case (pictured). I would recommend purchasing this as well if you require freight, however due to size and weight it will add considerably to the cost.

Due to the size, weight and nature of this item I would highly recommend local pickup. However, I will consider shipping if buyer is willing to pay for freight costs. I will even consider delivering this personally within the SE USA for an additional fee to insure it arrives safely. DM me to discuss shipping options.
