This is a real rare (Made in Hawaii at the start of the Ukulele craze....) Washburn model 1515 built in 1916. Built by Joshua Kumalae. Koa fingerboard, (correction here!) Learned yesterday from a trusted source that, in the early Ukulele craze, they first few years that Joshua was building these they were all KOA wood. It was not until a short time later they started using Flame Mahogany. 3 ring rosette, black and white binding, with nice case (pictured). There are two service cracks on the back, they are stable and do not go through the wood. Frets are great shape, little wear on the entire instrument. Washburn label intact and Washburn burned into neck block.
Washburn was easily made equal quality of instruments to Martin in this era. I have adjusted price for condition, but feel it is worth more. Not many 100 year old instruments you could still play.
