Microphone Splitter - 8chan - Sowter Transformers - 3x ISO Out P/Chan

8 Channel Microphone splitter with Sowter Transformers (known to us as the ‘purple beast’). Each of the eight inputs has a direct / loop out (top two rows of XLR’s) which passes phantom power and provides a ground reference point etc (generally used to feed to the microphones original destination). Then the bottom three rows are three isolated outputs per chan, each of which is a separate winding on that channels transformer. All the isolated outputs are ’ground lifted’ e.g. there’s no connection to pin 1 on those XLR outputs. There is a capacitor between ground (Pin 1) on each of the input XLR’s & the case (which in turn is connected to the mu metal cans on the transformers) for screening purposes.

As expected due to the Sowter transformers this is a very good sounding unit, offered at a very reasonable price.

Externally it’s very well used with lots of scratches / marks / chunks out of the paint etc (but who cares it’s purple!!) In order to open it up I had to remove the rubber edging strip from around the top, I have re glued this but not sure how good my glueing was…. The bottom three rows of isolated outs are numbered 9 thru 24, which seem to be meaningless. Its tested & fully working. Any questions please ask.
