You’d better sit down for this one, gang. Here is a 1995 Gibson ES-335 in UNPLAYED condition. It has been in storage for thirty years, absolutely untouched. It is perfect in every way. Mint Condition does not do this one justice.
So, what’s the story on this guitar? Back in 1995, two brothers decided they were going to start a rock and roll band. They bought all of the equipment they would need: guitars, amps, a bass, drums, microphones, cables, the lot. The only fly in the ointment was this; neither of them could play an instrument! And, as it turned out, neither of them took the time to learn, so everything went into storage, unplayed and unloved. And there it has sat for thirty years. A lot of the gear was not of the highest quality, but among the guitars, two stood out, and we bought both of them. So, in addition to this ES-335, there is a separate listing for an unplayed Blonde Gibson J200.
The other point of interest is that the brothers, since they couldn’t play, didn’t go to a guitar store to buy their gear. They ordered it online, probably from Musician’s Friend. So, the guitars don’t even have the normal wear and tear of having been played a bit in a store. They came directly out of the warehouse and both guitars are absolutely pristine. They still have their original Gibson strings on them, now thirty years old (we’ll toss a new set in the case, but want you to have the experience of playing this ES335 as a new guitar).
What we are selling in this listing is a 1995 Gibson ES335, in Vintage Sunburst, Factory stock, and unplayed. It is entirely original with no wear and tear whatsoever. We took it out of the case and tuned it up to check it out and everything about the set-up and performance of the electronics was spot on. It comes in the original case with all of the original case candy. The action is 5/64ths on the Low E and 1/16th on the High E, at the twelfth fret.

You’ll want to linger over the photos of this guitar. Zoom in and drool; we’ve tried to capture this beauty from all angles.
At thirty years old, this guitar is well on the way to Vintage status, and it hasn’t been played yet (except by me, for the accompanying video)! It just amazes me to find an instrument of this quality, in this condition. The ES-335 is the ideal thinline electric for everything from jazz and blues to psychedelia and roots rock. The PAF 57 pickups on which the ’57 Reissues are based, are the stuff of legend. So, where are you going to find a thirty year old example that has yet to be played? Don’t miss this one.
For obvious reasons, this ES335 is being sold AS IS and is not returnable unless it arrives in a condition other than as described or photographed, here. In other words, unless it is damaged in transit, it can not be returned.
