For sale is a KittyHawk 50W (2 x 6L6GC) in a Dumble combo cabinet equipped with an EVM12L speaker from the first week of 1980 (date code stamp "001").
The amp wasoriginally a Dumble Overdrive Special with a special circuit (for example: "classic" tonestack, special OD circuit, 12AX7 phase inverter with symmetry trimmer), whose chassis was repainted by the Roy Bros. and decorated with KittyHawk logos and the warning labels required in Europe at the time. It served as KittyHawk's endorsement amp for Peter Greenbaum (Peter Green) ( look at the photos - on one of them you will find the instagram link to Roy Bros/Kitty Hawk Germany , who imported and distributed Dumble Amps for Germany and Europe in the 70ties till the early 80ies ).
Peter Greenbaum endorsed KittyHawk amps in the early 80s (documented, for example, in TV recordings of the "Kolors" tour).
After intensive communication between the Roy Bros. and Alexander Dumble, a Dumble Overdrive Special, which had already been imported to Europe by the Roy Bros., was used. It particularly well-matched Peter Greenbaum's sonic vision at the time (simply put, a combination of Tweed Bassman and Blonde Showman). Kitty Hawk itself didn't have such circuits in its product range at the time.
