That says a lot now and in the future. This example screams Rock n Roll history even before a string is strummed. The Tri-Burst, The Aging, That 59 perfect medium C neck. I could sit with and enjoy this instrument for the shear beauty and craftsmanship, alone. But this is so much more then the sum of it's parts. The tone is so awesome and versatile that it makes you know the reason it's so desirable and the instrument of choice for collectors and players. A very few fortunate individuals will have the chance to play a magnificent guitar such as this, but this exclusivity is partially why this limited run was created. After having my brother in-law over one weekend, I feel the need to add to this description. I also own a 1995 Gibson Les Paul Classic, 60s reissue, Green Quilt Top from the custom shop. I think that guitar is such a beautiful guitar that it stacks up with the best. We played both guitars side by side and it was incredibly clear that the 2024, 59 Murphy Reissue with Brazilian Rosewood fretboard, has so much more character and sound quality that It shocked me. The guitar excels with the thick tones yet shines with the soft or strong bright notes. The clarity was eye opening. I actually walked away feeling excited that it was so obvious. The quilt top green Custom shop Classic 60's reissue was my gold standard for 30 years, but now has turned into my 2nd fiddle. : ) But it's still gorgeous in everyway, and I had Les Paul himself sign the pick guard.
